Contest Rules
“Battle of Startups 2021”

Participation and Eligibility

A. Startups can enter the competition by applying online for free.

B. Any startup from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand (CLMVT) can apply for one of the following categories and become an applicant.

• Agricultural Technology
• Food Technology
• Healthcare Technology
• Education Technology
• Travel Technology
• Logistics

C. Applicant(s) must be legally registered in one of the above-mentioned countries.

D. The Startup (represented by the Applicant(s)) must be less than 5 years old at the date of the contest.

Application period

A. The application period deadline is August 22nd, 2021.

Registration process

A. Applicants can register online for free by submit the following information to email: clmvt2021@gmail.com
• Startup name
• Startup website (if available)
• Brief description about the Startup maximum 500 words (this may include information about business model, proposed solution, marketing strategy, etc.)
• Contact details

B. Applicants must submit the required information in English; any part of the application that is not in English may not be taken into account.

Pre-selection Process

A. In total, 8-10 applicants will be selected to pitch at CLMVT+ Forum 2021 during
the “Battle of Startups 2021” (pitching session) which will take place on August 26th, 2021, from 09.00-12.00 hrs.

B. The Finalists will receive a confirmation e-mail by August 23rd, 2021, and be invited to pitch at the event.

Pitching Session

A. Due to the current COVID-19 situation in Thailand, the pitching session will be held virtually via Zoom Meeting. Finalists will receive the Zoom Meeting link in the confirmation e-mail.

B. During the Session, the Finalists will be granted ten (10) minutes to present their company and attempt to convince the Judging Panel. Every pitch will be followed by two (2) minutes of Q&A conducted by the Judging Panel.

C. The official language for the pitching sessions is English.

Composition and mission of the Judging Panel

A. The Judging Panel is composed of experts from the private and/or public sector with relevant business experience. The judges will be selected amongst the companies and associations from CLMVT countries and their trading partners including Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.

B. The role of the Judging Panel:

• to evaluate and grade each Applicant documentation
• to be present during the Finalists’ pitches and conduct the Q&A session following every pitch.
• to select the Winner of the pitch competition.

C. The Judging Panel will base its decision on the following criteria:
• Innovation
• Creativity
• Long term business strategy and viability

Prize

A. The Winner of the pitch competition wins one hundred thousand (100,000) Thai BAHT (cash).
B. The payment of the Award will be made by Bolliger&Company (Thailand) Ltd within 14 days after the contest.
