(21 de octubre de 2020 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) - La gobernadora Wanda Vázquez Garced y el secretario del Departamento de la Familia (DF), Orlando López, junto con el administrador de la Administración de Desarrollo Socioeconómico de la Familia (ADSEF), Alberto Fradera, informaron que mañana, jueves, 3,586 familias con menores asistidas por el Programa de Ayuda Temporera a Familias Necesitadas (TANF, por sus siglas en inglés) recibirán una asistencia de $500 por cada menor, lo que totaliza $2.8 millones en beneficios.

The Oversight Board welcomes the Request for Proposal (RFP) by the Puerto Rico Fiscal Agency and Financial Advisory Authority (AAFAF), in collaboration with the Oversight Board, to expand
broadband access for the people of Puerto Rico.
Broadband is a crucial resource for Puerto Rico residents, particularly now during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students who do not have access to reliable, high speed internet are unable to participate in distance learning. Broadband further provides many benefits to communities by increasing business productivity, providing access to better health care through telemedicine, and enhancing civic participation.

FDA Approves First Treatment for COVID-19
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the antiviral drug Veklury (remdesivir) for use in adult and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older and weighing at least 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds) for the treatment of COVID-19 requiring hospitalization. Veklury should only be administered in a hospital or in a healthcare setting capable of providing acute care comparable to inpatient hospital care. Veklury is the first treatment for COVID-19 to receive FDA approval.

The Federal Trade Commission has launched a new website, ReportFraud.ftc.gov, where consumers can easily report fraud and all other consumer issues directly to the FTC.
At ReportFraud.ftc.gov, consumers will find a streamlined and user-friendly way to submit reports to the FTC about scams, frauds, and bad business practices. The FTC has long encouraged consumers to report these issues to the FTC when they encounter them-whether or not they lost money to the fraud.

de $15 millones de FEMA
22 de octubre de 2020, GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico - Pronto se comenzará a ver la recuperación de algunos reconocidos espacios deportivos en la isla. El Coliseo Roberto Clemente, el Parque Sixto Escobar del Tercer Milenio, el Coliseo Pedrín Zorrilla, el Natatorio de San Juan, las canchas de tenis del Club Baldrich y el Parque Dr. José Celso Barbosa se repararán con una asignación de sobre $15.3 millones de la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés) por daños relacionados con el huracán María.
