El Secretario del Departamento de Hacienda (DH), Francisco Parés Alicea, informó que hoy inicia la nueva campaña de beneficios de las Loterías de Puerto Rico, Con las Loterías, ganamos todos, que resalta las aportaciones al bienestar social y económico, producto de la venta de billetes y de jugadas electrónicas.

“Desde la creación en el 1947 de la Lotería Tradicional y en 1989 de la Lotería Electrónica, además de provocar muchas alegrías y hacer realidad los sueños de miles de personas, éstas también han sido clave en el subsidio de programas importantes, principalmente de salud y educación y queremos que los ciudadanos estén conscientes de todo lo que sucede cuando compramos ese número de la suerte o combinamos una jugada electrónica. Nuestro compromiso y el del gobernador Pedro R. Pierluisi, es comunicar a dónde van los fondos y el impacto que tienen para beneficio de todos. Today, Gina M. Raimondo was sworn in as the 40th U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Secretary Raimondo was sworn in by Vice President Kamala Harris after a bipartisan vote of 84-15 in the United States Senate. Existing SBA disaster loans approved prior to 2020 in regular servicing status as of March 1, 2020, received an automatic deferment of principal and interest payments through December 31, 2020. This initial deferment period was subsequently extended through March 31, 2021. An additional 12-month deferment of principal and interest payments will be automatically granted to these borrowers. Borrowers will resume their regular payment schedule with the payment immediately preceding March 31, 2022, unless the borrower voluntarily continues to make payments while on deferment. It is important to note that the interest will continue to accrue on the outstanding balance of the loan throughout the duration of the deferment.

Many vaccine hunting social media groups provide practical tips in finding open appointments, but they can also be a place for scammers to push phony vaccines and other cons. Centralized vaccine availability websites, similar to airfare aggregation sites, scan the databases of vaccine providers, such as CVS or Rite Aid, for availability. VaccineFinder.org is one such site promoted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These websites can be handy tools, but be wary of lookalike sites that collect personal information or require payment.

The Biden administration has responded to recent reports of a global semiconductor shortage with an executive order calling for a 100-day review of supply chains and $37 billion to boost semiconductor manufacturing. Instead of implementing a stopgap industrial policy that picks winners and losers, lawmakers should consider broad improvements to the U.S. tax system that could address the problem in a more sustainable and evenhanded way. The shortage, which experts say could persist through the year, is affecting industries from automakers to game console producers and electronics manufacturers.
