En el día de ayer la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico celebró con gran éxito su Almuerzo con el Gobernador Electo con la participación presencial de un limitado grupo de socios y empresarios del país, marcado por estrictas medidas de seguridad para asegurar el bienestar de todos los presentes. El evento fue también trasmitido a través de la plataforma de Zoom y la gran audiencia escuchó al Lcdo. Pedro R. Pierluisi hablar sobre los pormenores de su Agenda económica para los primeros 100 días de su administración y su visión de acción al Plan de #12Puntos de la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico. Durante el evento el Gobernador Electo Pedro R. Pierluisi también endoso y firmó el "Puerto Rico Health Community Letter", presentado por el Presidente de nuestro Comité de Salud, Luis E. Pizarro-Otero, con el propósito de enviar un mensaje claro a Washington (al unísono) de la administración saliente y entrante sobre el tema de las disparidades de Salud de Puerto Rico.

FDA's Ongoing Commitment to Transparency for COVID-19 EUAs

Emergency use authorizations, or EUAs, are an important tool in our country's fight against COVID-19 and other public health emergencies. While EUAs have received increased attention during the COVID-19 public health emergency, EUAs are not a new tool to the FDA. I want to take a moment to reaffirm FDA's commitment to transparency around the EUA process and share some updates on our plan to provide more information about FDA's decisions to issue, revise or revoke EUAs for drugs and biological products, including vaccines.



The Federal Trade Commission has sent a warning letter to a company that markets financial aid prep assistance to post-secondary students, notifying the company that it could potentially be misleading consumers about access to a coronavirus relief program.

The letter to the operators of Frank Financial Aid (Frank) highlights the company's claims that it gives students "everything you need" to apply for emergency grants available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and that there are four identified eligibility criteria for the emergency relief.

Abre Centro de Recuperación por Desastre en Arecibo

17 de noviembre de 2020, ARECIBO, Puerto Rico - Debido a la reciente declaración de desastre por las inundaciones que ocurrieron el 13 de septiembre en el municipio de Arecibo, se abrirá un Centro de Recuperación por Desastre a las 8:00 a.m. mañana miércoles 18 de noviembre de 2020. Allí los sobrevivientes podrán presentar documentos para sus solicitudes de asistencia de la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés). El Centro estará ubicado en el Coliseo Manuel G. "Petaca" Iguina, en la urbanización Paseos Reales.

Eliminating Trump Tariffs 

One of President Donald Trump's signature policy actions has been to engage in a tit-for-tat tariff war with America's trading partners, and one of the big questions is what President-elect Joe Biden will do about that.

First, a brief review of where things stand. Relying on rarely used sections of trade law, President Trump used executive authority to impose tariffs on the import of solar panels, washing machines, steel and aluminum, Chinese products, and other types of goods. These tariffs invited retaliation from other countries. According to analysts Tom Lee and Jacqueline Varas's tabulations of 2019 import values and 2018 export values, more than $460 billion worth of traded goods are caught up in the trade war.

El doctor Víctor Ramos, presidente del Colegio, informó que esta gestión se realiza en alianza con la Asociación de IPA's, la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico, el Colegio de Enfermería Práctica y organizaciones aliadas a la salud. El servicio es libre de costo, los profesionales de la salud solo necesitan llevar una orden médica y sacar cita antes de ir.
