(6 de agosto de 2020- La Fortaleza, San Juan )- La gobernadora Wanda Vázquez Garced anunció que nuevamente el contralmirante Peter J. Brown, Representante Especial de la Casa Blanca para Puerto Rico, junto a representantes de la Oficina de Política Comercial y de Manufactura, de la Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo Internacional de Estados Unidos, así como otros representantes federales visitarán la isla para destacar el papel de Puerto Rico como un elemento clave en el restablecimiento de la producción biomédica en la economía de la nación.

(6 de agosto de 2020 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) - La gobernadora Wanda Vázquez Garced firmó la Resolución Conjunta del Senado 583 para ayudar a los municipios que ostentan una carga económica con la operación de las salas de emergencia de los Centros de Diagnóstico y Tratamiento (CDT) para que se mantengan ofreciendo los cuidados médicos de manera ininterrumpida en beneficio de la población.

(6 de agosto de 2020 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) - La gobernadora Wanda Vázquez Garced, junto al secretario del Departamento de la Vivienda, Luis Fernández Trinchet, y el administrador de Vivienda Pública, William Rodríguez Rodríguez, hicieron entrega de 100 títulos de propiedad, de los cuales 57 se otorgan a mujeres jefas de familia y 114 vales del programa de Libre Selección para Viviendas (Sección 8).

Executive Order on Ensuring Essential Medicines, Medical Countermeasures, and Critical Inputs Are Made in the United States
Visiting Ohio today, President Trump just signed an executive order to expand "Made in America" production, bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, and ensure that our citizens have access to the life-saving medicines they need.
These actions come at a crucial time "as we fight this battle against the invisible enemy from China," White House Director of Trade & Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro says.
Here are a few things the new order will accomplish:- Establish "Buy American" rules for Federal Government agencies
- Strip away regulatory barriers to domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Help spark the manufacturing technologies needed to keep drug prices low and move more medicine production onshore
President Trump signed the order today while visiting a Whirlpool manufacturing plant in Clyde, Ohio. This plant represents another important piece of President Trump's pro-America, pro-worker trade strategy toward China and other countries.

Vermont May Be the Next State
to Legalize Recreational Marijuana Sales
According to news reports, the Vermont legislature is ready to advance S54 this month or next, to legalize cultivation and sales of marijuana in the state beginning in 2022. Versions of the bill have been approved by both chambers. The current regulatory situation in Vermont is unique, as marijuana possession has been legal since January 2018. Before heading to the governor for signature, the two chambers will have to work out their differences in bicameral committee.
