Juramentación de nuevo Presidente y
Junta Directiva de la CCPR


La Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico (CCPR) llevó a cabo la juramentación de su nuevo presidente Luis A. Gierbolini Rodríguez, así como la nueva Junta Directiva para el periodo 2021-2022. La juramentación estuvo a cargo de la directora de Servicios Legales y Legislativos de la CCPR la Lcda. Liza García, y el evento se celebró el pasado jueves 15 de julio en el Caribe Hilton.
 
Durante su mensaje de juramentación, Gierbolini Rodríguez resaltó el importante papel que debe asumir la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico para promover una verdadera cultura empresarial en el País y fomentar su productividad a todos los niveles; aspectos a los que desea dar énfasis en su presidencia.
 
“Necesitamos unir a Puerto Rico en una visión común de país. En momentos que la situación fiscal y económica de Puerto Rico se ha agravado por la pandemia de Covid-19, todos tenemos que poner de nuestra parte para atajar la pérdida de empleos y la creciente contracción de nuestra economía. La responsabilidad es compartida”, expresó Gierbolini Rodríguez quien indicó que se propone convertir a la Cámara en un ente aglutinador para la discusión de ideas que impulsen la competitividad del país entre todos los sectores.

VIVIENDA ANUNCIA NUEVO PROGRAMA DE ASISTENCIA
PARA PAGOS DE ALQUILER


(19 de julio de 2021 – San Juan) El Departamento de la Vivienda anunció el comienzo del Programa de Asistencia para la Renta que ayudará a las personas que se vieron afectadas tras la pandemia y tienen atrasos de más de tres meses en el pago del alquiler de casa, del agua y luz.

Los costos elegibles para la asistencia incluyen renta vencida hasta 15 meses y a partir de abril del año 2020; renta corriente hasta diciembre de 2021, sin que el total de pagos exceda 15 meses de renta; gastos razonables por recargos debido a atrasos para los meses elegibles al pago de renta atrasada; y gastos de electricidad y agua, corrientes y vencidos, a partir de abril 2020 y hasta 15 meses.

San Juan, PR – July 14, 2021 – The Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico announced it has filed its fifth amended Commonwealth Plan of Adjustment that reflects an agreement with the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (UCC) and a proposal for an agreement with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the Asociación de Maestros de Puerto Rico (AMPR), and the Asociación de Maestros de Puerto Rico - Local Sindical (AMPR-LS).

Ingesting or inhaling nitrite poppers can cause severe injury or death
Health care providers are reporting increases in deaths and hospitalizations related to intentional ingestion or inhalation of nitrite products for recreational use, including sexual experience enhancement.

Commonly referred to as “poppers,” these products contain chemical substances similar to the prescription medication, amyl nitrite, which is prescribed for the relief of chest pain. However, poppers have not been evaluated by the FDA for safe use. These products are not safe to ingest or inhale.

DHS Announces Funding Allocations for Fiscal Year 21 Preparedness Grants 

The grant programs provide funding to state, local, tribal and territorial governments, nonprofit agencies and the private sector in building and sustaining capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from acts of terrorism and other disasters. The total amount for each grant program is set by Congress and the allocations are made by the Secretary.

BBB Scam Alert: Don’t fall for this parking lot dent repair scam
A person approaches you in the parking lot of a store stating they noticed dents on your car. It just so happens that they work at a body shop and can fix them for you! They promise to charge much less than what a shop would, and they can make the repairs on the spot while you are shopping. The “repair person” may try to appeal to your altruistic side by claiming that you’d be supporting their small business.

If you agree to the repairs, more than likely you will end up with a ruined car exterior. One victim told BBB Scam Tracker: “He was ‘fixing’ my car while I was in the store shopping. When I came out, he had drilled a bunch of holes into the body of my car. He told me it was standard procedure to drill holes in order to pull out the dent. Then, he put a black putty thing all over the holes and told me not to take off the putty until 24 hours later. When I tried to take off the putty, it looked worse than before."

10th Annual Building Resilience Through Private-Public Partnerships Conference
July 27-28
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. NORTHERN COMMAND, will convene virtually on July 27-28, 2021 to host the 10th Annual Building Resilience Through Private-Public Partnerships Conference. 

COVID-19 has impacted every community, but recovery has not been the same. The pandemic has exposed our deep-rooted vulnerabilities, and why we as a society need to work together to increase our resilience and elevate the equity of every individual. 

Now is the opportunity to strengthen partnerships. Together, we can shape a resilient future that drives opportunity, prosperity, security, and advancement for all. 

Discussions will address collaboration required among private, public, and nonprofit sectors to help mitigate the effects of all disasters. We will focus on building resilience against all hazards while looking ahead to future emergencies and how we can be better prepared through greater collaboration across sectors.

  • Su equipo deberá entrar a la sesión y tener progresar todos los días.

Pruebas de COVID-19
Los profesionales de la salud que tengan síntomas de COVID-19 o sospecha de haberse contagiado podrán acudir a las facilidades del Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico, lunes a viernes de 9:00am a 2:00pm, para realizarse la prueba diagnóstica rápida. El resultado se envía por por email.

El doctor Víctor Ramos, presidente del Colegio, informó que esta gestión se realiza en alianza con la Asociación de IPA's, la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico, el Colegio de Enfermería Práctica y organizaciones aliadas a la salud. El servicio es libre de costo, los profesionales de la salud solo necesitan llevar una orden médica y sacar cita antes de ir.
