The Levantado do Chão Literary Route shows the places where the most striking episodes of the work unfold, through a historical and social contextualization of its themes, including testimonies about the women and men who inspired the main stories and characters of the plot of Levantado do Chão. It also invites you to learn about the biographical aspects related to José Saramago's stay in Lavre, a place where the author went to in 1976, with the purpose of documenting himself to write what would become his first great novel.
